SFA: What's the Answer?
Women in the Shop?
Curious as to how many women are actual fabricators? I’ve recently moved from sales to fabrication and am really enjoying it. Just wondering how many other ladies there are out there in the shop rather than the showroom.
Congrats to you on moving into fab. I know a restoration company whose team is almost all women, and the attention to detail and ability to connect with the customer is amazing. I’ve had many great women on my team in non-fab roles and I’d love to hire women into my shop!

Congratulations! There’s a few of us, but we are out there!! Please feel free to reach out for any support, advice or just an ear if you ever need to rant! Also, it takes a special kind of crazy to fab! Just happy to see more women doing it! Lol
We have had several work in our shop. The attention to detail is amazing.
We are out there! I don’t do near as much as I used to, but there was a time when I could be found in the shop 😆 Love hearing about ladies rocking in the industry!
I want to get into it so bad, all I’ve done is help land, help cut, and some hand-chiseling.
There was a lady who I haven't seen post in a long time, lost her whole shop to a fire or something, did all hand-fabrication if I remember correctly.
That was my girl Saz Skeletons.
That’s me, f**k my life. I kept going even though I suffered a massive blow, the SFA stood behind me and lifted me up. I built a new shop and bought back everything.
I'm glad to hear you're back up and running
Hell yea! Get it girl!
We're here 👋🏼 polishing stone like I polish my nails 💅 .... though I haven't done much of that since I got into the fab side. 😂 Welcome!!!
In my past life I had a couple of females working in my cabinet shop. They kicked ass, did fantastic work, and their attention to detail blew the guys away

I do prep, polish, and have a couple of years on installs, but I prefer polishing in the shop.
We have a young lady that runs the saw and is amazing at it and dose very well fabricating: Caitlin Rose Has worked for us in the shop about 3 years now. Also our scheduling / supervisor Clarann Stout comes in the shop anytime I need her and cuts, removes fiberglass,or whatever I need .
My wife is the fab GOAT: Aleta K. Klassen.
Can we please get some estrogen in our shop?
I was brought into this industry by my mother. A single woman raising a teenage son. Many layers to this story, but I’m thankful she put me to work. Started at Cleveland Quarries in South Amherst, Ohio!
We have 3 in our shop and they’re extremely good.
I worked for and was mentored by woman who owned a shop. She wasn’t above holding a vac on an install or helping me clean and seal tops that were going out the next day. She taught me about the front end of the business and I taught her about the back. It was an invaluable experience for me. I don’t believe I could have learned the same things from a man.
I mostly run our machines and fab when I'm caught up on that.
