Chinese Ceramic Tile Tariff: 271% to 459%

WASHINGTON – A federal Commerce Department agency’s decision set temporary Chinese ceramic-tile tariffs as high as 459%.

The U.S. International Trade Administration issued antidumping tariffs on Nov. 7 with effective rates from nearly 104% to 356%, depending on the manufacturer and exporter.

Combined with previously announced tariffs on countervailing (subsidies), the total preliminary duties now total 271% to 450%. U.S. customs officials are now collecting the new rates.

A final decision will be made next May on permanent tariffs by the U.S. International Trade Commission.
